Our founder saw firsthand how difficult it was for children in Africa to find books that reflected their own stories, their own cultures, and their own world. International books were expensive and often irrelevant. Local books were hard to find.
So we built BooksByAma — a mobile platform that brings thousands of curated children's books directly to any smartphone. No expensive devices, no unreliable internet. Just stories, imagination, and the joy of learning.
Adefemi Michael Ademoyegun is the founder of Books By Ama, a digital reading platform built from a simple but powerful conviction: children deserve stories that help them see themselves, understand their world, and dream beyond it.
With a background rooted in creativity, Film and Visual storytelling, technology, and media, Adefemi saw an opportunity to bring these worlds together in a way that could make reading more engaging and accessible for children and families.
Books By Ama was born from that vision — not simply as a place to find books, but as a growing home for African stories, young imaginations, curious minds, and the next generation of readers.
At its heart, the platform is about more than technology. It is about creating access. It is about giving children stories that entertain them, teach them, inspire them, and remind them that their own experiences and cultures are worth telling.
Today, Adefemi continues to build Books By Ama with a long-term vision: to help make quality children's literature more accessible while creating a space where African stories can travel from one child's imagination to another, anywhere in the world.
